Eastpak - DC Comics collaboration

Our friends at Eastpak asked us to create visuals for their epic collaboration with DC Comics. The collection featured a full range of products inspired by iconic comic book characters. It was our job to bring that energy to life in a way that would excite potential customers.

To build the environments for the scenes, we used Unreal Engine. Its real-time rendering and post-processing effects helped us create stylized cityscapes with the bold, graphic feel you’d expect from a comic universe.

This project was also a great example of how different tools can work together. We used RealityScan and Marvelous Designer to create high-quality 3D models of the bags, then brought them to life using Cinema 4D and Unreal Engine. One of the trickiest parts was figuring out how to animate panels within a moving comic book layout. It was a technical challenge, but we pulled it off and ended up with a fun, dynamic piece that shows off the products in a truly unique way.

We went with the most natural choice for a comic-themed launch: a comic book! We designed a "freshly printed" booklet that showed the Eastpak bags and suitcases in action, each in their own superhero-inspired world. To make it feel as true to the genre as possible, we tried out different visual styles until we landed on just the right comic book look.
